Reminiscent of a 2017 quarterfinal playoff, the Mineral Wells Lady Rams took down Abilene Wylie on Tuesday, 1-0, at Ram Stadium.
Senior forward Mia Elder had the lone goal of the match, as the Lady Rams avenged three district losses to the Bulldogs from a year ago.
Keeper Reagan Carter had a clean sheet and 10 saves to get the win.
The No. 15 Lady Rams improved to 15-4-1 on the year and return to District 6-4A play on Friday at No. 3 Stephenville.
Rams win fourth straight
The Rams completed the sweep of Wylie on Tuesday night with a 3-1 win in the late match.
Striker Marvin Renteria gave the Rams a 1-0 lead at half with his eighth goal of the season. The sophomore stretched his team lead in goals to nine with one more in the second half.
Hot on in his heels, teammate Julian Avila made it 3-1 Rams in the second on his eighth goal of the year.
