The Lady Warriors advanced their win column to double digits at 10-1 with a 46-31 win over the Chico Lady Dragons of Chico.

Lani Buchanan and Hena Spahic led the scoring with 13 points each.  Buchanan made it a double-double by taking down 11 rebounds.  It was Spahic’s first game back on the court after hurting her ankle in the season opener early in November.

Emilee Reed added 12 points while Abby Brazeal put in five and Kate Buchanan scored three.

The Lady Warriors begin the CCS 10th Holiday Tournament this Thursday at the MW City Gym.  CCS plays High Point Prep at 7:30 p.m.

The Warriors bounced back in the second half with an impressive third quarter after a not so remarkable first half.  The Chico Dragons outscored the Warriors 14-10 in the first quarter.  The Warriors attempted to get things going but remained sluggish in the second quarter going to half time only up by two at 24-22.

The Warriors came back on fire.  From cold to hot, the Warriors outscored the Dragons 28-6 in the third quarter. The impressive run led to a final of 67-32.

CCS’s scoring was led by Kameron Mahaney with 27 points, including four from outside the arch.  Josh Guzman put in 17 points.  Jackson Horton added 11 points including a trio of three-pointers.  Ethan Hobson added 10 and Bryce Haralson two.

The Warriors, now 9-3, will be looking for win number 10 in Hico on Thursday.  The annual Hico tournament will afford CCS four games Thursday & Friday in a round-robin style bracket.  CCS will have some “David vs. Goliath” opportunities when they face four larger schools in West, (3A), Riesel, Albany (2A) and TAPPS 1A Founders Christian.
